Hard fought 67:60 win against BG Baskets Hamburg

In the third attempt, FCK Rolling Devils achieved their first win. Kaiserslautern won a hard-fought game against playoff participant BG Baskets Hamburg with 67:60. The game took place in parallel to Kaiserslautern carnival and was visited by only 160 spectators, who, however, gave the team excellent support and made the "hell of Kaiserslautern" burn again. And they saw an improved Kaiserslautern Team. The defense was more stable, the scoring was better and the Players showed good fighting spirit and the will to win. Kaiserslautern benefitted from a weakened Hamburg team Petr Tucek was longer and Hiroaki Kozai and Reo Fujimoto still not available and Gesche Schünemann and Mustafa Korkmaz were still slightly sick. Hamburg had the better start (2:8), but Kaiserslautern equalized soon and won the first quarter (18:14). The game developed in an intense way and none of the teams managed to get in front decisively. The score was 33:29 at half time, 48:43 after the third quarter and 62:60 two minutes before the end of the game. In the last minutes, Rolling Devils managed to save the win. Top scorer for Kaiserslautern was Jake Williams (35) followed by Kai Möller (12) and Mark Beissert (10). Most successful Hamburg Players were Mustafa Korkmaz (26), former Devils player Philipp Häfeli (16) and Gesche Schünemann (10).
