Bundesliga: FCK Rolling Devils play BSC Rollers Zwickau
Saturday, 2. January 2015
On January 9, FCK Rolling Devils start into the new year with
a home game against BSC Rollers Zwickau. After the home games of Kaiserslautern’s
Regionalliga team at 10am and 2pm, the Devils at 6pm play the „Phoenix“ team
from Saxony. Last year, Zwickau had to compensate many strong players leaving
the club. However, they handled this well and are now playing a good season.
The playoff participant from previous season is currently ranked 6th with 10:10
points, directly followed by FCK Rolling Devils (rank 7 with 8:12 points). The
Devils had suffered a clear 80:56 defeat in the away game in Zwickau, mainly
because of a weak defense and low score rate. Since then, Kaiserslautern has
improved a lot, however, they could not eliminate these weaknesses completely
yet as the recent clear defeat against Thuringia Bulls illustrated. But a solid
defense and successful scoring is needed for a win against Zwickau, who have two
of the best Bundesliga scorers, Vaytantas Szuba (239 points) and Rostislav
Pohlmann (177), in their roster. Kaiserslautern’s player coach Taz Capasso has
only few practising units for team perparation against Zwickau. After two
defeats in a row, a win would come at the right time, in particular in view of
the difficult games in Hamburg and at home against RSV Lahn-Dill.
